ABOUT OUR PHILANTHROPY

Arthritis

Alpha Omicron Pi’s international philanthropy is arthritis, and our philanthropy partner is the Arthritis Foundation. Since 1967, members and chapters have raised millions of dollars to fund research, provide resources, and support those affected by arthritis, a disease that disproportionately impacts women and also affects children.

AOII’s philanthropy dollars support several impactful Arthritis Foundation initiatives, including the Juvenile Arthritis Power Pack program, Juvenile Arthritis Camps, the Juvenile Arthritis Family Summit, and the 24/7 Helpline. Our Canadian sisters proudly support The Arthritis Society of Canada, furthering our shared mission to fight arthritis and improve lives.

OUR Local Efforts

We’re proud to continue this legacy of service at Pi Theta! Here’s how we’re making an impact in our community: During the Spring 2026 semester, the Alpha Omicron Pi chapter at Florida International University remained committed to supporting our philanthropic mission through impactful fundraising, service, and community-building initiatives. Our chapter hosted events including Marry Me Valentine, which fostered connection and engagement within the FIU community while raising support for our philanthropic efforts, as well as Rose Ruck Week, a week-long event dedicated to honoring service members and supporting military families. Through these initiatives, we raised a total of $7,721, contributed 100 volunteer hours, and engaged approximately 150 members in philanthropy and service. Proceeds benefited organizations including the AOII Foundation, Soldiers’ Angels, and the Ruby Fund, allowing our chapter to make a meaningful impact while furthering Alpha Omicron Pi’s commitment to service, leadership, and sisterhood.
